01: Lexing and layout
E0101
Unexpected character. A character that can’t start any token, such as $, % or ; outside a comment or string. A run of them is reported once.
dim D = 768 $
See Tokens.
E0102
Unterminated string. A string has no closing " before the end of its line. Strings can’t span lines.
extern fn erfc(x: Real) -> NonNeg = "torch.special.erfc
See Tokens.
E0103
Tab used for indentation. Indentation must be spaces. Tabs elsewhere on a line are fine.
fn f(x: [n]) -> [n]:
return x
E0104
Indentation doesn’t match an enclosing block. A line is indented less than the line before it, but not as little as any block it could be closing. The help says which indentations would work.
fn f() -> []:
a = 1.0
return a
E0105
Unmatched closing bracket. A ) or ] with no opening bracket before it.
fn f(x: [n]) -> [n] = add(x, x))
E0106
Unclosed bracket. A ( or [ is never closed. Since line breaks don’t count inside brackets, the rest of the file is read as part of the bracket, which usually causes other errors too.
fn f(x: [n]) -> [n] = add(x, x
